My long time friends and family have followed my personal blog, Square Piece, for years.  After having children and opening a salon, I went from writing every day to a couple of times a year, the content comical, meaningful, or both.  Yesterday provided the most perfect opportunity to update the world on our little salon and a new anniversary we’re celebrating.

For over 10 years, I’ve been attending one of the country’s largest hair shows in Chicago.  Every March, I’d check the weather, pack my layers, and pray to God not to get stuck in a snow storm coming or going.  Imagine my intrigue when I caught wind of a hair show in Birmingham, Alabama… in October… with no chance of blizzards. More than the weather, this event seemed particularly organized in regards to education.
