Surface Product Knowledge and Punk Rock Class!

Boy, are we spoiled!  This Monday, Glass Door Salon had the pleasure of hosting Amber Kennedy, a regional Surface hair care educator.

Corinne, Suzanna and Louise had already been through some product knowledge classes, but this was a wonderful first for Emma and Cheryl.  New or old, we all had plenty of opportunities to interrupt with questions and clarifications and we all feel wildly inspired to make your hair behave!

In addition to chewing on the science and chemistry of hair and its potential magic potions, we also enjoyed learning a new braid – “The Braid of Chains” – both by watching and by getting our fingers in the model’s hair ourselves.  Essentially, the Braid of Chains is much like the first chain in a crochet pattern.  How cool is that?

And while we stylists all know how to tease hair, we learned a slightly different adaptation on a punk rock mohawk, “frothing” the hair with new techniques.  …’Cause, you know, all of our guests who are Northern Virginia’s finest government workers are standing in line waiting for their next stage-ready mohawk…

But seriously… it was so much fun.

Come to us with your hair problems!  Solutions are abounding here!
