A New Addition to Glass Door Salon

Days before giving birth to my second son, Shepherd Hart Spears, I had Emma give me a lovely Halo Foil.  Here at the Glass Door Salon, our halo foils wrap around the hairline and are a godsend to those of us who plan on wearing our hair up a lot.

Well, there’s nothing like labor, delivery, and maternity leave to keep me permanently fixed in a sloppy bun (not to mention we were in the July heat)!  We laughed as I jokingly laid the pressure on Emma, explaining that generations to come would be looking at my birth photos, loving or criticizing my hair.

And, like any other client who had done extensive hair “homework,” I came to our consultation with images of other similar highlights that appealed to me (except I edited the images to black and white so we could really hone in on the size and placement of the highlight versus the tone).

For those of you who would like to celebrate the birth of our second son, our photographer put together one tear-jerker of a slideshow to commemorate the day our lives changed forever… again.  It is complete with our goodbye to our firstborn son (left in the capable hands of my mother-in-law), labor, delivery, nursing, and all the sweetness of snuggling a new baby (oh, and I asked the midwife to show me the placenta, so…).
